Recruit Training Program
The first step in becoming an Air Cadet with 151 Squadron is completing Recruit Training, a 6–8 week course designed to welcome new cadets and introduce them to the customs and traditions of the program. Recruits learn military time, basic drill, rank structure, Squadron history, how to wear a uniform, and get an overview of the many activities offered.
Once registration paperwork is complete, recruits may also join some optional activities (such as band or drill).
Recruit Training Schedule
- Mondays, 7:00–9:00 PM at Rotary Hall, 254 Centre Street South, Oshawa
- Training later moves to Monsignor John Pereyma Catholic Secondary School, where recruits join the rest of the Squadron.
An information night is held before the start of each course to introduce recruits and their parents/guardians to 151 Chadburn Squadron.
After completing Recruit Training, cadets participate in a graduation parade and then begin regular Monday evening training (1900–2145) with the rest of the squadron. Cadets are placed into training levels based on their age to ensure they are appropriately challenged for their stage of development.
If individuals have questions or concerns they are encouraged to email the Squadron at recruiting@chadburn.org or call 905-576-1511
