Houston Trophy – Parent & Cadet Shoot (1967-2007)
The Houston Trophy is named after Flying Officer Jack Houston, CD, a former officer with 151 Squadron. He was a mentor to the Squadron’s youngest Commanding Officer, then Flight Lieutenant Ted Gilbank. Jack Houston served with the Palestinian Police Force prior to World War Two as well Regimental Sergeant Major with the Second Battalion, Scots Guards in England and brought with him many of the Squadron’s traditions from that famous British Guards Regiment. His inspiration and influence on the cadets and officers will always be remembered by those who served with him. The memory of his presence will live on in the history and traditions of the Squadron.
This trophy is presented to the top team at the annual Parent and Cadet Rifle Shooting competition.
